Discover A Weight Loss Program That Works For You – Lose Weight Today!

Our Medical Nutrition Program  is a multi-disciplinary comprehensive approach to address your individual weight loss and maintenance needs. MNP provides four essential components to ensure your success.

  • Every phase of our program is under the direct supervision of Dr. Joseph Isaacson, Board Certified in Obesity Medicine and Internal Medicine.
  • Registered dietitians and health coaches skilled in behavior change, experienced with weight loss and food issues will facilitate support groups. Helping you understand the underlying reasons for your weight problems is our goal, enabling you to successfully maintain your weight loss.
  • Instruction from registered dietitians. Learn about nutrition and foods which will help maintain your weight loss. Discover food facts and healthy nutrition tips that will help you feel fit, energized, and full.
  • Regular exercise program. Our certified fitness instructor will help you plan a personalized program to help tone muscle, tighten skin, and burn calories

FIRST STEP

Our very low calorie ‘fasting’ program, designed for patients with at least 30 to 40 pounds or more to lose. Patients use meal-replacement shakes and soups consisting of casein and soy protein, carbohydrates, essential fats, fiber, vitamins and minerals, with and option to include 200-300 calories of vegetables and fruits

Hunger is lost almost immediately, despite only 650-800 calories per day. There are no appetite suppressants in the food. Weight loss is rapid, roughly averaging 4-5 pounds per week for men and 2-3 pounds per week for women.

Your medical condition is monitored by our board-certified internal medicine specialist. Lab tests are performed every two weeks.

During weekly behavioral therapy sessions with our registered dietitians, health coaches and professional therapists, you will focus on and examine how individual weight problems have developed, learn to reprogram eating behavior, and learn how to change life-style patterns to maintain an appropriate weight.

BETTER WEIGHS

Our program for people with 30 pounds or less to lose. Better Weighs offers the flexibility of combining three meal-replacement shakes or soups per day with one calorie-controlled meal under the direction of our registered dietitian. Meet with our dietitian weekly and our physician monthly.

After patients reach their goal weight in First Step, they transition to food in Better Weighs.

NUTRITION EDUCATION

Our licensed, registered dietitian provides nutrition education both individually and in groups to our patients. Emphasis is placed on individual life-styles, food preferences, and medical conditions. Nutrition workshops, with “hands on” experience, are ongoing during maintenance.

EXERCISE

Exercise plays a vital role in weight loss and weight maintenance. Under our guidance, you will develop a life-style pattern that will safely incorporate consistent aerobic exercise. Patients are encouraged to purchase a pedometer and walk 10,000 steps per day as well as well as engage in regular strengthening exercise. We understand, however, that often people need to lose weight so they can exercise, rather than exercise to lose weight.

MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

Our Maintenance Program is the most important aspect of MNP. To avoid weight regain, our patients are asked to enter into an “agreement” to maintain their weight in a reasonable range. The agreement commits one to be active in weekly group meetings of nutrition sessions and exercise instruction for a period of six months. Participation beyond six months is highly recommended and is correlated to success.

At Medical Nutrition Program, we help you make meaningful changes in your relationship to food to enable you to maintain your goal weight.
